Located on one of the wildest stretches of Cornish coast between Pendeen and Morvah, Portheras is a lovely cove with soft sands, a cascading waterfall and dramatic cliffs. Portheras is located at the end of a shallow valley, where seals are often seen. To the west is Pendeen Lighthouse which can be reached by taking a short walk along the coast path. Until recently parts of Portheras beach were out of bounds due to razor sharp fragments of an old wreck which ran aground in 1963. In 2004 the wreck was finally cleaned up making the beach safe.
