Description
Simple and beautiful, scallops are one of the most common seashells. They’re associated with medieval pilgrims, nowadays particularly with the famous pilgrimage to Santiago De Compostela. This one came from Portheras – one of the more remote beaches in West Cornwall. It is finely made from high quality sterling silver with a fine sterling silver 18 inch chain.
Price includes free P&P within the UK, plus gift wrapping, packed in a padded envelope and posted First Class.
Located on one of the wildest stretches of Cornish coast between Pendeen and Morvah, Portheras is a lovely cove with soft sands, a cascading waterfall and dramatic cliffs. Portheras is located at the end of a shallow valley, where seals are often seen. To the west is Pendeen Lighthouse which can be reached by taking a short walk along the coast path. Until recently parts of Portheras beach were out of bounds due to razor sharp fragments of an old wreck which ran aground in 1963. In 2004 the wreck was finally cleaned up making the beach safe.

I absolutely LOVE this scallop necklace. My husband got it for me because I’m walking a (small) part of the Camino shortly – and I think the friends I’m walking with will be buying one, too! Because it’s based on a real scallop, there are lots of tiny details…It’s just beautiful. Thank you x

Lovely scallop shell-would have preferred to pay more for a slightly heavier chain as it looks rather unbalanced on the very fine chain it came with.
